I have some unsolicited advice for you guys. You should marry a writer. If I were still single this would sound like a pick up line—a really strange pick up line—but I’m not. The first person to read my stories is always my wife and she is always honest with her feedback. That’s awesome. It’s good for married people to be honest but even better than that she is a writer and can give valuable feedback. As she read through book 3 she recorded her thoughts and suggestions and then emailed them to me.
It was so helpful. I wish I could tell you how helpful that was for me but I don’t know how. My wife is a better writer than I am so maybe I’ll ask her later and then I’ll let you know.
Anyway, the report from the wife draft is this: book 3 doesn’t need anymore real rewrites. No more starting over from scratch. No more sitting down to write whole chapters or thousands of words. What’s left is several dozen adjustments and little fixes—it might be in the hundreds but still, all good news.
I want to tell you all about book 3 so much but it’s still a bit early. Later this year you’ll be bombarded with awesomeness. I’m really excited about how this book turned out. It’s fast paced fun. One thing my wife kept saying was she was reading too quickly because what was happening was so interesting she couldn’t stop. Music to my ears. I love my wife.
